History

AmVet Technologies was formed by Gordon Errington in 2006 as a Limited Liability Corporation to pursue consulting services to the Federal Government. As a Service Disabled Veteran, Mr. Errington established AmVet as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). During the first two years of operation Mr. Errington built his business consulting reputation at both the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

In 2009, the company was successful as a subcontractor to Chickasaw Nation Industries in obtaining a significant contract to support the Department of Energy's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). During this time the firm grew to roughly 16 employees most of which were fully engaged in supporting the DOE CIO's office. During 2010 the firm continued to expand, primarily within the DOE OCIO environment but also adding work at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a direct contractor to the Laboratory. At LANL we provided significant Program Management support as well as technical efforts in software systems development. Additionally we obtained new work at the Department of State as a sub-contractor to SRA supporting Cyber Security efforts. During the year AmVet successfully received a GSA Advantage Contract – GS-35F-0291X. This contract, better known as a Schedule 70 contract, is a Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) which allows AmVet to compete for a wide range of government contracts. Additionally the firm received a US Navy Seaport-e contract. This contract, similar to a GSA GWAC, allows AmVet to compete for a variety of US Navy business.

Again in 2011 the OCIO work at DOE was the primary effort however we recieved two additional contracts one as a subcontractor to QinetiQ, North American supporting the their GSA efforts in the Washington DC area and another supporting the DOE at the "West Valley Plant" decommissioning in upper New York state. These efforts continued to expand the expertise of the company and provided an increased variety of professional services and particularly Program Management Office services. As a result we have recently greatly expanded the percent of our team having the Program Management Professional certification and we have been certified by LANL as qualified under NQA-1, the Nuclear Quality Assurance guidelines set forth by ASME.

2012 has seen AmVet continue to provide outstanding service to our customer base. While we continue to focus on our primary customer, we have also been building expertise particularly focusing on Quality Assurance. During the year we have launched efforts to become CMMI level III and to obtain ISO 9002 certification. The firm is fully committed to Quality Assurance as a key element of our value added to our customer base.
